This project expands the existing Regent College with the addition of a 30,000 sf library. The project is unique in that the new library is built below grade with the roof being developed as an at grade public park. Natural light is introduced through skylights and large landscaped light wells. The library has a passive air system utilizing the pressure differential created by a wind tower to exhaust air which has been passively drawn in, tempered and then distributed from under the floor. The library was designed to LEED Gold standards.
